Bow Your Heads

Bobby Mack, a founding member of our community passed away today due to complications from a stroke.

Master Sergeant Bobby Wayne Mack of Ft. Walton Beach has flown West after suffering a series of strokes. Bobby was instrumental in establishment of the enlisted TACP school at Hurlburt Field, Florida, which resulted in yesterday’s “ROMAD” turning into the very effective JTAC of today. He was an absolutely superior NCO and helped me integrate the “junior” elements of the TACP into our officer track of the Joint Firepower Control Course at the Air-Ground Operations School in the early eighties. We later worked together at BAE Systems in Ft. Walton, along with Col. Jim Adams and Lt. Col. Jack Dorr. After retirement he later became an adjunct professor at the Northwest Florida State College and taught there for a number of years. Bobby was a gentleman and a superior Kingfish fisherman. His contribution to Volume I of “Cleared Hot”, A Terrible Day at LZ Two Bits is on p. 298. Services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Slow hand salute to a distinguished NCO, a fine fisherman, and a great friend for many years. Chuck Johnson / Jake 73
