POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, Hawaii (AFPN) — Staff Sgts. Vincent Delorenzo (left), and Matt Nugent, use a map to coordinate targets for incoming fighter aircraft at Pu’uahi Hill observation point during close air support training at RIMPAC 2000 here. They are both terminal attack controllers assigned to the 25th Air Support Operations Squadron, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. U.S. Navy F-14 and F/A-18 aircraft dropped “live” 500-pound bombs during the exercise. RIMPAC 2000 is a major maritime exercise held every two years involving more than 50 ships and 200 aircraft.
